The Shura Council State of Qatar

H. E. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, the Speaker of the Shura Council met today, with H. E. Mr. Wesley Simina, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Group in the IPU and the Speaker of the Federated States of Micronesia and the accompanying delegation. 

During the meeting they discussed cooperation between the Council and the Asia- Pacific Group and ways to bolster and develop them in various fields of parliamentary work.

They also reviewed the current arrangements for the meetings of the 140 General Assembly of the IPU and the Related Meetings hosted by the State of Qatar, from 6th, to 10th, April, 2019. 

Mr. Wesley Simina expressed his pleasure with the keenness and the close follow up of these arrangements by H. E. the Speaker and the officials of the Shura Council to ensure that they are progressing in the best form, taking into account the provision of all requirements for a successful and unique session of the IPU that is capable to produce positive results and to contribute to enhancing and developing the joint international parliamentary work. 

The meeting was attended by a number of members and officials of the Shura Council.
