Advisory Council Speaker Visits Doha Metro and Mega Strategic Reservoirs Project in Al Thumama

HE Speaker of the Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud and a number of the Council's members visited Tuesday the Doha Metro project, where they were briefed on the work progress and the stages completed.

HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council and a number of the Council's members also visited the mega strategic reservoirs project in Al Thumama, and learned about the mechanism of operation and the modern technologies used in the project.

In press statements, HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council said what he saw during the two visits is a source of pride and confidence, and reaffirms the ability of the people of Qatar to make achievements and turn ambitions into reality, despite the unjust siege imposed on the country.

He hailed the wisdom, the directives and follow-up of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani who adopted a sound and thoughtful planning approach in the conduct of State affairs, and a comprehensive strategic vision as a path to development, modernization, achievement and securing the future for the future generations.

HE the Advisory Council Speaker underlined that Doha Metro, which is considered one of the most advanced transport projects in the region and uses the latest technology in this field, is a great addition to the country's achievements, and sends a strong message to anyone trying to obstruct the development process in the country by marginal battles away from the basic objectives of building, progress, glory and serve the homeland.

HE Al Mahmoud also praised the mega strategic reservoirs project, in which HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani launched the first phase of water pumping last Thursday, noting that the reservoirs, which is the largest of its kind in the world, will provide the country's water needs in the present and future, thus contributing to food security and water development requirements.

HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council expressed in his name and on behalf of the members of the Council, appreciation for the efforts exerted by the honorable government and its implementation of development plans and major projects to achieve the interests of the homeland and the citizens, with all efficiency and ability despite the conditions of the siege.
