Al Mahmoud: Selecting Qatar As Observer in LACP Shows The Trust it Enjoys

HE Shura Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud said that selecting the State of Qatar as an observer member in the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (LACP) reflects the strong trust Qatar enjoys in the world and emphasizes its active role in all regional and international gatherings.

In remarks to QNA, on the sideline of the 35th general assembly of Latin American and Caribbean Parliament in Panama, HE Al Mahmoud said that the State of Qatar is the first country in the Middle East to have become an observer member in the LACP. For the first time, Qatar's flag was flying at the meeting venue in Panama.

He added that, with God's grace and thanks to the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the State of Qatar is highly regarded and respected by the countries of the world and selecting Qatar as an observer member of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament comes to further reflect the country's role around the world and the trust it enjoys.

HE Al Mahmoud pointed that he had signed an MoU with the President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament on cooperation; exchanging expertise; political coordination and contribution to lifting the unjust blockade from the State of Qatar. He also pointed that The State of Qatar, as an observer member of the LACP, will participate in decision-making, follow-up and coordination with the Parliament.

He stressed that the global status of the State of Qatar was achieved thanks to the directives of HH the Amir, and considering that Qatar seeks good for all being a state of love for good and peace for the peoples of the world. He stressed the need to work always with all parties, both regional and international, in order to achieve security, peace and stability around the world
