Speaker of Shura Council Meets President of Inter-Parliamentary Union

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud met on Thursday with HE President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Gabriela Cuevas Barron at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the Parliamentary Hearing session which will begin at United Nations Headquarters Thursday and lasts for two days.
During the meeting, they discussed parliamentary relations between the State of Qatar and the IPU and ways of enhancing them in addition to the most important topics on the agenda of the Parliamentary Hearing session.
They also discussed the preparations of the Shura Council to host the 140th IPU General Assembly meetings and related meetings, to be held in Doha from April 6 to 10, 2019.
The meeting was attended by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya bint Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani and a number of the Shura Council members.
