The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council will hold a special session to discuss a report set to be submitted by HE Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, on the measures taken by the Ministry to confront the threat of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to listen to the ministry's experts on the topic.

HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed Bin Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud requested in a letter sent to HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari a detailed report on the precautionary measures taken by the Ministry of Public Health and its affiliated bodies to confront the threat of the emerging Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the necessary preventive measures which the ministry has taken to reduce the risk of this disease in the short term as well as in the long term in the event it lasts for longer period, especially with the spread of the disease in many countries.

His Excellency also expressed in the letter his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Health and in developing the health sector in the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and its cooperation with the Council in carrying out the national mission entrusted to it.
