Shura Council Speaker Meets Chairperson of Senate of Uzbekistan

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met on Sunday with HE Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and her accompanying delegation, currently visiting Qatar to participate in the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5).
At the outset of the meeting, HE Speaker of Shura Council greeted the Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, lauding the relations bonding the two countries and peoples.
In turn, HE Tanzila Narbaeva extended thanks to the government and people of the State of Qatar, praising Doha's hosting of the Parliamentary Forum on LDCs.
In this context, she praised Doha's role in supporting development efforts and its endeavor to realize sustainable development goals, particularly its important role in supporting LDCs.
Her Excellency also noted the Qatar's tangible progress development in various fields, expressing her admiration for the success in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The meeting also dealt with parliamentary cooperation relations between the two sides, and ways to enhance and develop them. The two sides reiterated the importance of coordinating positions and viewpoints in international parliamentary forums, to serve issues of common concern.
