Shura Joint Committee Discusses Draft of Social Security Law

The joint committee formed by Legal and Legislative Affairs, and Financial and Economic Affairs Committees of the Shura Council held a meeting today, headed by HE Mohammed bin Mahdi Al-Ahbabi, member of the Committee, and in the presence of HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti.
During the meeting, the committee discussed the draft of social security law, in the presence of HE Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Hamad bin Ahmed Al-Mohannadi, where His Excellency answered the inquiries and observations that the committee concluded after a number of meetings it held during the last period.
HE Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers also provided a clarification and explanation on a number of articles of the draft law, which the committee raised some questions about it during its previous meetings.
The joint committee will continue to hold its meetings in order to finalize the two draft social security and military retirement laws, by hosting representatives of the competent authorities in the country to answer the inquiries and observations made by the committee on the aforementioned two projects to clarify all their aspects.
