With a delegation led by HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, the Shura Council is participating in the inaugural summit of the of the Speakers and Presidents of Parliaments from the member and partner countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) and PAM 20th Plenary Session, which will be hosted by Budva, Montenegro, on May 6-7.
Alongside the General Assembly meetings, the summit will discuss a number of key topics, particularly parliamentary diplomacy and its role in strengthening institutional resilience, in addition to issues of political and security cooperation, dialogue between civilizations and human rights, economic and environmental challenges, as well as issues of migration and children in armed conflicts, within the framework of strengthening parliamentary coordination and exchanging experiences between member and partner states.
This summit is an important milestone in PAM's work, as it brings together the speakers and presidents of parliaments to discuss regional and international issues and to promote joint parliamentary action.
In addition, HE Vice President of PAM and member of the Bureau Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie participated in the 58th meeting of PAM Bureau, which was held Wednesday as part of the meetings accompanying the General Assembly.
The meeting discussed a number of organizational issues related to PAM functioning and activities.
