Shura Council Members Affirm that the First Ordinary Session Embodied the Integration of Legislative and Oversight Functions in Service of the Nation and Its Citizens

H.E. Mr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Muadadi, Member of the Shura Council, stated that during the First Ordinary Session of the Second Legislative Term, the Council demonstrated its commitment to fulfilling its legislative and oversight responsibilities through a well-established institutional approach grounded in serving the nation and its citizens, while placing the supreme interests of the State at the forefront of its priorities.
In a statement marking the conclusion of the First Ordinary Session of the Second Legislative Term, His Excellency affirmed that the constructive cooperation between the Council and the esteemed Government constituted a fundamental pillar in supporting the Council’s work and reinforcing the complementarity between the two authorities, thereby contributing to the advancement of development and the achievement of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
For his part, H.E. Mr. Nasser bin Mohsen Bukhisha stated that the session witnessed diligent work at both the plenary sittings and the permanent committees, reflecting the members’ seriousness and commitment to addressing national issues with a strong sense of responsibility.
In a similar statement, His Excellency emphasized that the regularity of the Council’s and its committees’ work reflects an institutional commitment that enhances the quality of parliamentary performance. He noted that legislative and oversight work is not confined to plenary sittings but extends to the committees, which constitute the technical and substantive foundation of the Council’s work.
Meanwhile, H.E. Dr. Hassan bin Issa Al Fadala stated that the legislative output achieved by the Shura Council during the First Ordinary Session represents an important indicator of the vitality of parliamentary work and the Council’s commitment to studying draft laws in a thorough and responsible manner.
His Excellency affirmed that the discussion of draft laws affecting various sectors, in addition to the draft law proposal on child digital protection, reflects the Council’s awareness of societal and technological developments and its determination to address them through legislative frameworks that strengthen community protection and enhance quality of life.
For his part, H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Saud Al Musallam stated that the Shura Council’s attention to societal issues, foremost among them the family and child upbringing, reflects the Council’s close engagement with the aspirations of society and the needs of citizens.
In a statement issued on the occasion of the conclusion of the session, His Excellency affirmed that the motions expressing desire concerning the enhancement of parental care and support for family cohesion, strengthening the social, cultural, and value-based role of sports clubs, and addressing childhood obesity reflect a clear commitment to tackling national priority issues.
H.E. Ms. Amina bint Yousef Al Jaida stated that throughout the First Ordinary Session, the Shura Council continued to fulfill its national mission by combining legislative and oversight responsibilities with active participation in regional and international parliamentary forums.
In a similar statement, Her Excellency affirmed that parliamentary diplomacy constituted an important instrument for highlighting the State of Qatar’s positions, defending Arab and Islamic causes, and strengthening bridges of cooperation and understanding with sisterly and friendly parliaments.
For her part, H.E. Dr. Mona bint Abdulrahman Al Musallamani stated that the discussions and issues addressed by the Shura Council during the First Ordinary Session reflect the priority accorded to people in parliamentary work, recognizing them as both the objective and the driving force of development.
Her Excellency affirmed that the Council’s focus on issues relating to the family, child upbringing, combating childhood obesity, and child digital protection demonstrates that legislative and oversight work is closely connected to the daily concerns of society and seeks to promote its stability and improve the quality of life of its members.
H.E. Mr. Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Matar Al Kuwari stated that the First Ordinary Session witnessed the Shura Council’s active engagement in considering the draft laws and matters referred to it, thereby reinforcing its role in supporting national action.
