The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council participated today in a GCC coordination meeting held via videoconferencing in preparation for participation in the 151st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), scheduled to be hosted in Geneva later this month.
The Council was represented at the meeting by Her Excellency Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, and His Excellency Mr. Yousef bin Ali Al-Khater, Chairman of the Internal and External Affairs Committee of the Council.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views and proposals regarding the agenda items of the General Assembly, as well as perspectives on requests to include urgent items on the Assembly’s agenda. They also agreed on the Arab Group’s nominees for vacancies in the permanent or subsidiary committees of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
