HE Shura Council Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim held separate meetings on Sunday with HE Afrim Gashi, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia, and a delegation from the French Senate, as Doha continued a series of high-level parliamentary engagements.
During his meeting with Gashi, HE Al Ghanim highlighted the strong parliamentary ties between the two countries and Qatar's interest in broadening cooperation and coordinating positions in international forums.
Meanwhile, HE Gashi praised Qatar's remarkable progress across multiple sectors, noting advances in the legislative field and the country's growing regional and international role in promoting peace, security and development. Both sides discussed ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation, including closer communication channels and expanded exchanges of expertise.
In a separate session, HE Al Ghanim met with a French Senate delegation led by HE Laurent Mazurier, chairman of the Qatar-France Parliamentary Friendship Group. Talks focused on strengthening Qatari-French parliamentary cooperation, boosting the exchange of visits and expertise, and reviewing issues of mutual interest amid steadily expanding ties between the two nations.
The meetings come as Qatar continues to position parliamentary diplomacy as a key component of its broader foreign relations strategy.
