The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Qatar–Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Shura Council, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Mahdi Al-Ahbabi, Chair of the Group, met today with its counterpart at the Swiss National Council, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Hans Peter Portmann, which is currently visiting the country to attend the Doha Forum.
During the meeting, a number of topics related to developing parliamentary cooperation between the two sides were reviewed, as well as ways to strengthen friendship relations and exchange legislative expertise, in a manner that contributes to supporting joint parliamentary work paths.
The two sides also addressed ways to coordinate positions in international parliamentary forums, in a manner that enhances mutual understanding and develops channels of communication between the two councils. The Swiss delegation commended the efforts of the State of Qatar in the field of mediation and its role in promoting peace and global stability.
The meeting included His Excellency Mr. Badi bin Ali Al-Badi and His Excellency Dr. Hassan bin Issa Al-Fadala, Members of the Qatar–Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Council.
