The Qatari–Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Shura Council, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Essa bin Arrar Al Rumaihi, Chair of the Group, met with its counterpart at the Shura Council of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Al Faraj, Vice-Chair of the Group, which is currently visiting the country as part of the visit undertaken by the Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council to Doha.
During the meeting, a number of topics related to strengthening friendship relations between the two councils were reviewed, and ways to enhance the exchange of legislative expertise in a manner that contributes to supporting joint parliamentary work paths were discussed, in addition to examining mechanisms for coordinating positions in regional and international parliamentary forums, in a way that enhances mutual understanding and serves the shared interests of the two brotherly countries.
The two sides also discussed the importance of building upon the strong ties that unite the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and of investing parliamentary cooperation in supporting efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive development, and developing channels of institutional dialogue between the two sides.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Vice-Chair of the Group; His Excellency Mr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Maadadi; His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Saeed Al Marri; His Excellency Mr. Nasser bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi; and His Excellency Mr. Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, Members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group.
