H.E. Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, met today with a parliamentary delegation from the Assembly of the Representatives of the People of the sisterly Republic of Tunisia, headed by H.E. Mr. Saleh Al Salmi, who is currently visiting the country within the framework of joint cooperation and coordination between the two councils.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed parliamentary cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured the Council’s premises, where they were briefed on the working mechanisms in place and the modern technologies adopted in managing sessions. The tour also included a visit to the documentary exhibition, which features collections and documents chronicling the history of the Council since its establishment and highlighting key stages of its development.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of the Qatari-Tunisian Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Council, along with Their Excellencies Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabit Al Dosari, Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Maadadi, Ali bin Saeed Al Marri, Amina bint Yousef Al Jaidah, Nasser bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, and Issa bin Ahmed Al Nasr, members of the Council.
Separately, the Qatari-Tunisian Parliamentary Friendship Group, chaired by H.E. Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of the Group, held an official session of talks with the Tunisian delegation. During the session, both sides reviewed ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation and joint coordination in light of the brotherly relations and strong ties of cooperation between the two countries and peoples, in addition to discussing means of coordinating parliamentary positions between the two councils in various parliamentary forums.
