The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council took part in the global event organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union titled: “Political Will in Action: Key Steps for Parliaments to Accelerate the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals,” which was held via videoconference.
The Council was represented in this event by H.E. Member Khalid bin Ghanem Al-Ali.
The meeting discussed a series of practical solutions that parliaments can adopt to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through their legislative and oversight tools, and explored ways to promote parliamentary action in support of national and international commitments in this regard.
The event included an interactive dialogue involving a number of specialized experts and decision-makers, focusing on the exchange of parliamentary experiences and highlighting the importance of political will as a key factor in activating legislative and executive frameworks that support sustainable development in various countries.
