Shura Council Participates in Parliamentary Meeting on Climate Change Impacts

The Shura Council took part in a virtual parliamentary meeting entitled "Parliamentary strategies to strengthen peace and security against threats and conflicts resulting from climate-related disasters and their consequences", held by the Permanent Committee on Peace and International Security of the 142nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Discussions during the meeting focused on the impacts of climate change at the global level, intensifying the urgent discussion on migration due to climate change, and finding common solutions to deal with this global crisis and trying to mitigate its effects, especially on developing and emerging countries.

The Shura Council was represented at the meeting by HE Mohammed bin Mahdi Al Ahbabi, member of the Shura Council and member of the Permanent Committee on Peace and International Security.
