The Shura Council State of Qatar

The temporary joint committee formed by Legal and Legislative Affairs, and Financial and Economic Affairs Committees of the Shura Council, held its first meeting today, in the presence of HE Deputy Speaker of the Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE Abdul Rahman bin Yousuf Al Khulaifi was elected Chairman of the Interim Committee.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the details of the two draft laws "Social Insurance and Military Retirement", as well as a framework for the stages of its work, and the mechanisms for its study of the two aforementioned projects.

During the discussions, the members explained the importance of this file, given its direct connection to the lives and needs of citizens, and its reflection on their well-being.

They pointed to the society's aspiration for the issuance of these two laws, stressing in this context that the committee will study them in a manner that ensures that the aspirations of the Qatari society are met when they are issued, in implementation of the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, to provide a decent life for citizens.

The committee noted the importance of its study of the two projects covering all their aspects, and ensuring all details, for the benefit of citizens.

After discussions among the members, the committee stressed the need to complete the aforementioned projects as soon as possible, by holding intensive and continuous meetings.
