Shura Council Participates in Preparatory Committee of Arab Parliament's 4th Congress

The Shura Council is participating in the 3-day meetings of the Preparatory Committee of the 4th Congress of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Assemblies and Parliaments, which kicked off Tuesday in Cairo.


In the meetings, the State of Qatar is represented by HE Member of the Shura Council Yousef bin Ali Al Khater and HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadhala.


The meetings will address the congress' draft document regarding the parliamentary vision to achieve security and stability and advance the current Arab reality, which is scheduled to be submitted to the 4th Congress for discussion and adoption by the heads of councils and parliaments.


The draft document prepared by the Arab Parliament includes a vision of the most prominent challenges and crises in the Arab region, as well as the role that parliamentarians can play in this regard, in addition to a number of issues of concern to the Arab world.


The document aims to activate the role of parliamentary diplomacy in addressing the challenges the Arab nation is facing, strengthen the role of the Arab Parliament and Arab councils and parliaments in facing the current challenges in the Arab region, and achieve the Arab's aspirations in comprehensive development, social justice, security, stability and coexistence.
