A delegation from the Shura Council, currently on an official visit to the brotherly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, headed by Her Excellency Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Council, met with His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Khalayleh, First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, and a number of Their Excellencies members of Parliament, members of the Qatari Parliamentary Fraternity Committee - Jordanian.
During the meeting, they reviewed the existing cooperation relations between the Shura Council and the Jordanian Parliament and ways to enhance them in light of the distinguished and solid relations between the leaderships and peoples of Qatar and Jordan.
The meeting also reviewed a number of issues related to coordination at the level of regional and international parliamentary federations, aspects of cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two sides, as well as stressing the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the need for coordination to support all efforts aimed at achieving peace for the Palestinian people and establishing their independent state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
Within this framework, the First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament praised the State of Qatar's firm and supportive positions for the Palestinian cause, and also noted Qatar's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, stressing that it represented the Arab and Islamic world well.
During the meeting, the two sides affirmed their denunciation and denunciation of disgraceful practices that offend the feelings of Muslims, through extremists burning copies of the Noble Qur’an in a number of countries, stressing that these practices feed extremism, contribute to increasing violence and terrorism, and undermine efforts for peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Council delegation attended a part of the session of the Jordanian Parliament, where it was briefed on the course of the session and the mechanism for managing discussions in it.

The Shura Council delegation includes His Excellency Mr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, His Excellency Mr. Issa bin Arar Al-Rumaihi, His Excellency Mr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Sada, and His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Subaie, members of the Shura Council.
It is noteworthy that this visit comes within the framework of the growing relations that bring together the leaderships and peoples of the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as the visit seeks to strengthen the existing parliamentary relations between the two sides, and take them to broader horizons.
