Tunisian President Visits Shura Council

HE President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied visited the Shura Council on Monday, within his state visit to the country.

HE the President was received at the Shura Council by HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Sulaiti and a number of members of the Shura Council.

During the meeting, HE the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed HE President Kais Saied's visit to the Council, stressing the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples. HE the Speaker of the Shura Council praised the advanced level that relations between the two countries have reached in various fields thanks to the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President Kais Saied.

During the meeting, HE the Speaker of the Shura Council noted that HH the Amir announced that the Shura Council elections will be held in October 2021.

His Excellency praised HE President Kais Saied's stances towards Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and praised his efforts to bring peace to Libya, preserve its unity and sovereignty, and meet the aspirations of its people.

For his part, HE President Kais Saied expressed happiness at his visit to the Shura Council and welcomed the Council elections. HE affirmed the strength of the relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, as well as the important role of parliaments in unifying positions, bringing countries and peoples closer together, and defending just causes.
