National Day/ Shura Council Speaker to QNA: National Day is Celebration of Achievements in Various Fields

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim affirmed that the National Day is a celebration of the achievements that extend from the time of the Founder to the present time and its glory under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the Qatar National Day, HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim congratulated HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, the government and people of Qatar and everyone who lives in this benevolent country.
He said that the National Day of our beloved country is a landmark where we stop to recall the stages, transformations and developmental achievements of the country up to the present time with all its great accomplishment that are reverberating around the world, stressing that these achievements would not have been made without the wise leadership and its vision and the devotion of the people of the country to embody that vision with diligence and sincerity.
Regarding the slogan of this year's National Day, 'Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength', HE Speaker of the Shura Council affirmed that this slogan reflects and embodies the principles upon which the State of Qatar was founded by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, noting the cohesion and solidarity that the sons and daughters of Qatar embodied in different stages along this triumphant development march.
He added that choosing the slogan for this year's National Day, which is a quote from the speech of HH the Amir at the opening session of the first elected Shura Council, confirms the importance of unity and solidarity, and reminds us all of the principles on which the State was established by the Founder.
HE stressed that the State of Qatar was able to overcome all obstacles and difficulties it faced during its history through unity, solidarity and cohesion, stressing that preserving these meanings is a guarantee for a promising future. We were able to overcome all the difficulties that we faced thanks to our unity and cooperation, and we must all not lose sight of this aspect, nor forget that unity, adherence to the teachings of our religion, and having pride in our honorable heritage is the source of our strength, he said.
Regarding the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 coinciding with the National Day, HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim praised the successful organization of the tournament, stressing that the State of Qatar has proven to the world its ability and superiority in organizing major events.
HE noted that Qatar, thanks to the wise policy of HH the Amir, was able to occupy a prominent global position and compete in various fields, adding that the State of Qatar has proven to the whole world that it is able to host international events with high professionalism, and this is clear by the successful organization of the tournament, which is the most important sporting event in the world.
He said that the State of Qatar was able to become the crossroads of cultures, a source of goodness and peace and a model of respect for diversity, as communities from different parts of the country live in harmony and peace while belonging to different cultures, in an affirmation of human brotherhood, explaining that this what Qatar is affirming in various occasions.
HE Speaker of the Shura Council concluded his statement by emphasizing the Council's support for all initiatives that achieve coexistence, peace and convergence among people, in addition to supporting the various efforts in a way that contributes to strengthening the regional and international status of the State of Qatar.
At the same time, he stressed the Council's keenness to be the best representative of the people in achieving their aspirations by contributing effectively to supporting popular participation in decision-making.
