The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council participated in the joint seminar organized by the Special Mediterranean and Middle East Group (GSM) and the Economics and Security Committee of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, held in Rome, Italy.
The Council was represented at the seminar by H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Malki and H.E. Mr. Issa bin Arar Al Rumaihi, Members of the Shura Council.

The seminar discussed a number of security and political issues related to NATO’s southern flank, the interconnection between the Mediterranean region and the eastern front, cooperation in the Sahel region, and developments in the Gulf region. Discussions also addressed issues related to energy security, infrastructure security, and the enhancement of political and security partnerships between the countries of the region and the Alliance.
The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint coordination to address regional and security challenges and to support stability in the Mediterranean and Middle East regions.
