The Shura Council State of Qatar

Her Excellency Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, met today with Baroness Harriet Harman, the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for Women and Girls, who is currently visiting the country.
During the meeting, the role of the Shura Council—within the framework of the State of Qatar’s orientations—in discussing social and legislative issues related to women and the family was reviewed, along with the importance of the parliamentary role in supporting policies aimed at enhancing community participation and consolidating legal frameworks that support stability and development. The meeting also addressed the envoy’s role in supporting issues related to women and girls, and examined areas of cooperation and the exchange of views on matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Ms. Amina bint Yousuf Al-Jaidah and Her Excellency Dr. Mona bint Abdulrahman Al-Musallamani, Members of the Shura Council.
