The Shura Council State of Qatar

HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti affirmed that the speech delivered by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the first ordinary session of the second legislative term expressed a holistic vision to advance the path toward national development and to consolidate the values of Shura and institutional work.

She reaffirmed the steadfast principles of Qatar’s foreign policy, grounded in dialogue, peace, and justice.

On this occasion, Her Excellency extended her profound gratitude to the members of the Council for the trust they bestowed upon her by electing her as Deputy Speaker of the Council, emphasizing that this confidence constitutes a mandate and a responsibility that require further collaboration and cohesion among the members.

The spirit of collective work will remain the sine qua non of the Council's performance of its legislative and oversight functions, in the service of the homeland and citizens, and in translating the aspirations of the prudent leadership, HE Dr. Hamda underlined.

Dr. Hamda noted that HH the Amir's speech constituted an outright invitation to double down on efforts to reinforce comprehensive development, emphasizing that the Council would continue its work guided by the directives of His Highness, in deepening the principles of transparency and oversight, and in advancing legislation that keeps pace with national and global transformations.

Her Excellency pointed out that this sublime speech reiterated the State of Qatar's enduring position regarding the Palestinian cause. She lauded Qatar's efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, alongside its persistent efforts to protect civilians and support regional stability.
