Shura Council Secretary-General: HH the Amir's Speech Constitutes Clear Starting Point for National Action in Next Phase

HE Shura Council Secretary-General Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud affirmed that the lofty speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the first regular session of the second legislative term, constitutes a clear starting point for the national work process in the next phase, as it included lofty visions and directives that enhance institutional building and consolidate the approach of participation and responsibility in various fields of development.

On this occasion, HE the Shura Council Secretary-General congratulated Their Excellencies Members of the Shura Council on gaining the confidence of HH the Amir, wishing them success in carrying out their legislative and oversight duties, and serving the nation and its citizens with all sincerity and responsibility.

HE the Shura Council Secretary-General also congratulated HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim on his election as Speaker of the Shura Council for the second legislative term, and HE Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti for her election as Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, wishing them success in their work.

He stressed that the General Secretariat will continue to support their efforts and will exert all means and capabilities to enable them to perform their mission in the best possible manner, in support of the council's progress and in strengthening its national role.

His Excellency indicated that the General Secretariat draws inspiration from the high directives of HH the Amir to establish the foundations upon which its strategic plan (2025-2030) is based.

This plan aims to develop institutional performance and enhance the efficiency of the council's administrative and technical support through digital transformation, institutional innovation, and the development of national competencies, in line with the state's aspirations to build an advanced administrative apparatus capable of supporting the council's legislative and oversight work with efficiency and competence.

His Excellency pointed out that the General Secretariat has completed its preparations for the launch of the new session by developing the technical infrastructure, preparing the council's facilities, and training its staff to ensure that sessions and meetings proceed at the highest levels of efficiency.

He emphasized that the percentage of Qataris working in the General Secretariat has exceeded 90 percent, which in turn confirms the council's commitment to the policy of nationalization and empowering national competencies.

His Excellency concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the General Secretariat will continue to work as a team, keeping in mind the lofty directives of HH the Amir to always be a model of institutional efficiency that supports the Shura Council's journey in serving the nation and its citizens.
