HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday with HE Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh.
At the outset of the meeting, HE the Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized the depth of the historical fraternal relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He noted that cooperation between the Shura Councils of the two countries represents a vital path that contributes to strengthening these relations and joint coordination at various levels.
He also noted that such visits represent a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and develop prospects for legislative work, which benefits state institutions and society.
In turn, HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim highlighted the solid and well-established relations between the two countries, and their continuous development under the wise directives of the leaderships of the two fraternal countries.
He stressed that parliamentary cooperation between the two councils constitutes an important dimension of bilateral relations, and reflects the commitment of both sides to institutional and legislative development in a manner that keeps pace with the aspirations of the two peoples, and enhances the vital role of Gulf parliaments in supporting joint Gulf action.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of existing cooperation between the two councils and ways to develop them by enhancing the exchange of legislative expertise and experiences, coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums, and best parliamentary practices that would contribute to improving institutional performance within the legislative councils.
In addition, they discussed a number of topics and issues of common interest.
