Shura Council Participates in Parliamentary Meeting on Food Systems, Sustainability

The Shura Council participated on Wednesday in a parliamentary meeting entitled Transforming Food Systems for Health, Equity, and Sustainability, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in cooperation with the United Nations, via video communication technology.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the most important long-term environmental, economic and social consequences of current unsustainable food systems, how laws and policies can support food systems to address malnutrition, and what are the legislative and policy approaches to more sustainable, inclusive and gender-sensitive food systems.
The Shura Council was represented in this meeting by HE Nasser Bin Sulaiman Al Haidar, a member of the Council.
