The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council participated today in the coordination meeting of the Gulf legislative councils, which was held via videoconference, in preparation for participation in the proceedings of the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to be hosted by Istanbul next April.
The Council was represented at the meeting by H.E. Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, and H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al-Dhabit Al-Dosari, Member of the Council.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views and proposals on the items proposed for the agenda of the General Assembly, as well as exchanged views on requests to include emergency items on the Assembly’s agenda. They also discussed nominations for the presidency of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the election of its Secretary General, in addition to agreeing on the Arab Group’s candidates for vacancies in the Union’s standing and subsidiary committees.
