The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council participated in a roundtable meeting organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, in cooperation with a number of international organizations and centers, under the title “Ending Violence Against Women in Politics: Ensuring Safe Online Spaces”, as part of the Women and Youth Democracy Initiative.
The Council was represented in the event by Her Excellency Ms. Amina bint Yousuf Al-Jaidah, Member of the Shura Council.
The meeting included a presentation of good practices and the efforts undertaken by the relevant entities to combat violence against women and the spread of online disinformation, in addition to discussing knowledge-building and training tools for parliamentarians on combating digital violence against women in political life, as well as ways to support cooperation between parliaments and competent bodies to develop a safer digital environment for women.
