The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council participated Monday in the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, as part of the work of the 143rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is currently being held in the Spanish capital, Madrid.

The council was represented in the meeting by HE Nasser bin Hassan bin Dandoun Al Kubaisi, member of the Shura Council.

During the meeting, the committee discussed the topic "promoting information and communication technology as an aid to the education sector, including during times of the pandemic," which is scheduled to be presented by the committee at the IPU144th Assembly.

A panel discussion was also held within the meeting, which dealt with the impact of climate change on natural resources, and focused on how to preserve natural resources, and how parliaments can ensure access to water for all, given the expectations of increased global demand for food and water over the next thirty years, and the impact of direct and indirect climatic changes on agricultural production.
