The Shura Council Participates in League of Parliamentarians for Al Quds 4th Conference

The Shura Council participated Tuesday in the fourth conference of the League of "Parliamentarians for Al-Quds," which is held in the Turkish capital, Ankara under the title Al Quds is Our Red Line.

HE Deputy Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti delivered a speech before the conference in which she affirmed Qatar's commitment to the principles and charters of the United Nations, noting Qatar's support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people.

Her Excellency affirmed the rejection of all forms of aggression against Islamic and Christian sanctities on the Haram esh-Sharif, stressing the need to achieve a comprehensive and just settlement for the Palestinian cause by establishing a Palestinian state on the borders of 1967 with East Al Quds as its capital. On the just and comprehensive peace, Her Excellency indicated that the just and desired peace cannot be achieved without Israel's commitment to the references and resolutions of international legitimacy, which the Arabs accepted, and upon which the Arab Peace Initiative is based.

On the sidelines of the conference, HE the Deputy Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti met with HE Head of the Turkey-Palestine parliamentary friendship group Hasan Turan, and assistant of the Deputy Leader of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, and HE Head of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds Hamid bin Abdullah Al Ahmar in two separate meetings.

The two meetings dealt with reviewing aspects of cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations in the parliamentary field between the Shura Council, the Turkish Parliament and the League.

The conference and the two meetings were attended by members of the council HE Khalid bin Ahmed Al Obaidan, HE Issa bin Ahmed Al Nasr, and HE Yousef bin Ahmed Al Sada, and Khalid bin Kamal Al Emadi.
