Secretary-General of Shura Council: Qatar Hosting Expo Aligns With National Sustainability Projects

HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadala said that Qatar hosting the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha aligns with the national sustainability projects of many relevant institutions in the country, falling in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 of achieving sustainable development.

In a statement on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of Expo 2023 Doha on Monday, His Excellency noted the economic and technical importance of hosting the exhibition and its activities since Expo 2023 Doha has the largest international participation in the history of the event.

He also noted the commitment of participants from all over the world, including international organizations and non-governmental companies, to organize a successful event that will have a significant impact on environmental cooperation between countries of the world.

Al Fadala added that Qatar hosting the event over six months falls in line with the country's great interest in agricultural and food security, within the framework of achieving a balance between human needs and the protection of natural resources, as well as providing all forms of support and assistance to motivate agricultural producers as they are contributors to achieving food security.

The unprecedented global participation in the event's activities reflects the confidence that the international community has towards Qatar and its ability and excellence in hosting international events, Al Fadala said.
