Shura Council Participates in Emergency Parliamentary Meeting on Gaza in Tehran

The Shura Council participated Wednesday in the 5th extraordinary Meeting of Permanent Committee on Palestine at the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States hosted by Tehran, Iran.

Members of the Shura Council Abdulla bin Jaber Al Lebdah and HE Mubarak bin Mohamed Al Kuwari represented the council at the meeting.

The meeting tackled the situation in Gaza Strip and the tribulation of the brotherly Palestinian people due to the relentless aggression Israeli occupation forces have been unleashing since Oct. 7.

In remarks during the meeting, HE Mubarak bin Mohamed Al Kuwari emphasized that the violations being committed by the Israeli entity in Gaza are presage of the collapse of humanitarian system that will potentially generate consequences that can hardly be addressed, because they will destabilize security and peace in the region.

His Excellency reviewed the efforts of the State of Qatar in espousing the Palestinian cause, along with its confirmation of the legitimacy and the enduring legitimate rights of brotherly Palestinian people, in addition to the State of Qatar's unwavering commitment under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to ceasefire and getting humanitarian assistance into Gaza Strip.

In addition, the delegation of the Shura Council participated in first meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly's Palestine committee (APA) hosted by Tehran, Iran.

The meeting discussed the situation in Gaza Strip and avenues to galvanize the parliamentary efforts to champion the brothers in Palestine.
