Shura Council Praises HH the Amir's Tour of a Number of Central Asian Countries

The Shura Council held Monday its regular weekly meeting at Tamim bin Hamad Hall, under the chairpersonship of HE Speaker of the Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim.
At the outset of the session, the Council praised HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's tour of a number of Central Asian countries, including the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan, stressing that this visit will give new impetus and strong boost to existing cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and Central Asian countries.
The Council affirmed that the tour of HH the Amir will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening Qatar's economic position and will work to develop partnerships and take bilateral relations between Qatar and those countries to broader horizons.
Then, the Council reviewed the draft internal regulations of the Shura Council, which was prepared by the special committee for preparing the regulations. After discussing a number of its chapters, the Council decided to complete its discussion in an extraordinary session to be held tomorrow, Tuesday, for this purpose.
The Council also reviewed a draft law on issuing a law regulating postal services referred to it by the esteemed government. The Shura Council decided to refer it to the Services and the Public Utilities Committee to study and submit a report thereon to the Council.
The Council also reviewed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 2 of 1983 with respect to the Practice of the Profession of Medicine and Dental Medicine and Surgery, which was referred to it by the esteemed government.
After discussing the proposed amendment, the Shura Council approved the aforementioned draft law in accordance with the amendment received from the government.
