Shura Council Participates in Arab Parliament's Palestine Committee Meeting

The Shura Council has participated in the meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament that was held on Thursday in Cairo to discuss developments and the dangerous escalation that the Palestinian territories have been witnessing since last Saturday.
HE Member of the Shura Council and member of the Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament Shaikha bint Yousuf Al Jufairi represented the Shura Council in the meeting.
The committee called on the international community and active parties to stop the aggression, protect civilians through the international system, intervene immediately to stop the ongoing escalation, urge Israel to stop attacks and provocative actions against the Palestinian people and provide them with international protection, especially from attacks by extremist settlers, abide by the rules of international humanitarian law, and force the occupying power to submit to the will of peace based on international law.
The Committee affirmed that the Arab Parliament is supporting and backing the State of Palestine and its legal actions undertaken by the Palestinian National Council to stop the Israeli aggression and provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and exerting all official, parliamentary and popular pressure to stop the Israeli war machine and stop the loss of life, war crimes and systematic state terrorism that are criminalized by international law.
The committee also affirmed the Arab Parliament's firm position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions, and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
This meeting comes within the framework of preparing for the work of the first session within the fourth session of the Arab Parliament's third legislative term, scheduled for the day after tomorrow (Saturday) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
