Speaker of Shura Council Meets Speaker of Jordanian Parliament

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met on Tuesday with HE Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ahmed Al Safadi, and the accompanying delegation, who is visiting the country.

During the meeting, they discussed the existing parliamentary relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them.

HE Al Ghanim commended the Jordanian prominent role in supporting the Palestinian cause, stressing the stance of the State of Qatar in support of the Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

In turn, HE the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives noted the remarkable developments witnessed by the State of Qatar in various fields, praising the success of the 21st edition of the Doha Forum, which concluded its work on Monday and witnessed positive interaction by the participants, which resulted in a set of ideas and visions that would contribute to finding solutions to the most prominent problems facing the world.

The meeting also discussed the ongoing aggression of the Israeli occupation forces against the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to the humanitarian catastrophe that the Palestinian brethren are suffering.

The two sides underscored the need to make parliamentary efforts to push the international community to condemn the aggression, ceasefire, and protect defenseless Palestinian people.

In this context, HE the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives praised the State of Qatar's support, under the directives of its wise leadership, for the Palestinian brethren, providing them with all forms of support, and its tireless efforts to bring humanitarian and relief aid into the Gaza Strip.

The meeting was attended by HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, a number of Their Excellencies Members of the Council, and HE Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Qatar Zaid Mufleh Al Lawzi.
