The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council participated in the Seventh Briefing for Young Parliamentarians, held via visual communication last week, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) as part of the "Empowerment Series for Young Parliamentarians". The briefing coincided with the celebration of International Youth Day and the 75 Human Rights Initiative leading up to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 2023, and in support of the IPU's "I Say Yes to Young People in Parliament" campaign.

The Shura Council was represented at the briefing by H.E. Mr. Mohamed bin Omar Al-Mannai, Member of the council.

During the session, progress was assessed in the implementation of the joint call for action on young people's political participation. Attendees also exchanged discussion and review of their States' experiences in enhancing the presence of young people at the parliamentary level.
