Shura Council Participates in Meetings of AP Standing Committees in Cairo

The Shura Council participated in the meetings of the Arab Parliament (AP) Standing Committees, held in Cairo today, in preparations for the 2nd meeting of the 4th session of the Arab Parliament 3rd legislative term, slated for Sunday.

The Shura Council's delegation included Their Excellencies members of Arab Parliament Standing Committees: HE member of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee Shaikha bint Yousuf Al Jufairi, HE member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee Essa bin Ahmad Al Nassr, HE member of the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs Committee Salem bin Rashid Al Meraikhi, and HE member of the Foreign Affairs and Political and National Security Committee Hamad bin Abdulla Al Mulla.

The Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee approved the Arab women parliamentary document and the Arab world social status 2023 report, as well as discussed a parliamentary vision for a database of destroyed, looted, stolen, mutilated, or altered Arab artifacts.

During the meeting, HE Shaikha bint Yousuf Al Jufairi, committee member, presented several proposals centered around empowering women, reducing unemployment, and diversifying employment sectors, which were all well received by the attendees.

The Economic and Financial Affairs Committee reviewed a number of legislative initiatives and a draft law regulating food supply chain losses, in addition to following up on preparations for the 2nd edition of the Arab economic forum on Arab-interstate economic integration.

As for the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs Committee, it discussed the Arab world human rights 2023 report and a guiding law draft on combating bullying in the Arab world, in addition to developing an Arab parliamentary vision to address the negative repercussions of natural disasters on human rights in the Arab world.

In addition, the Foreign Affairs and Political and National Security Committee covered the latest political and security developments in the Arab world and worked on a comprehensive Arab vision to enhance security and stability in the Arab world.
