The Shura Council participates in the meetings of the Standing Committees of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Baku

Today, the Shura Council participated in the meetings of the Standing Committees of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), held within the work of the 14th plenary session of the Assembly, in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

Her Excellency Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speker of the Shura Council, and His Excellency Mr. Saud bin Jassim Al Buainain, a member of the Council, participated in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Political Affairs.

The meeting reviewed the Secretariat's report on the Committee's activity and a draft resolution on the unwavering support of Asian parliaments for the brotherly Palestinian people.

In an intervention during the meeting, Her Excellency the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council stressed the necessity for parliamentary action to stop Israel's aggression against the Gaza Strip and to introduce humanitarian assistance and supplies to the residents of the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Hitmi Al Hitmi, a member of the Council, participated in the meeting of the Standing Committee concerned with Social and Cultural Affairs.

During the meeting, a number of draft resolutions were reviewed, including a draft resolution on measures to promote cultural diversity and protect heritage in Asia, a draft resolution on Asian integration through information and communications technology, a draft resolution on health justice in Asia, and other resolutions.
