Chairman of Qatari-Kazakh Parliamentary Friendship Group to QNA: HH the Amir's Visit to Kazakhstan Reflects Development of Bilateral Relations

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to Kazakhstan, and the hosting of His Highness as the chief guest at the Astana International Forum, reflects the advanced level of the Qatari-Kazakh relations, and the keenness of both countries' leaderships to bolster and develop them in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples, said HE Shura Council Member and Chairman of Qatari-Kazakh Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Council Eng. Ahmed bin Hitmi Al Hitmi.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency said that the mutual visits at the level of the leaderships of the two countries, as well as at the level of ministers, lawmakers, and senior officials push relations to new horizons of cooperation and partnership, in light of the ties that unite them and the broad areas of cooperation under recently inked several agreements and memoranda of understanding in areas of trade, health, education, sports, standardization, mining, investment protection, and others.

The two countries were also keen to boost bilateral parliamentary relations, by fostering communications and coordination, and exchanging expertise between the Shura Council and the Kazakh Parliament, His Excellency said.

He added that the Shura Council attaches special importance to the development of parliamentary relations with Kazakhstan and other Central Asia countries, capitalizing on the common denominators and the great development in bilateral relations, which requires parliamentary diplomacy to play its key role and work to strengthen it to serve the two friendly peoples.

Over the past years, lawmakers from both countries have exchanged visits and held meetings and gatherings, whether in Doha, Astana, or on the sidelines of regional and international conferences, forums, and parliamentary gatherings, His Excellency added.

Concluding his remarks to QNA, HE Shura Council Member and Chairman of Qatari-Kazakh Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Council Eng. Ahmed bin Hitmi Al Hitmi indicated that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to Kazakhstan will advance bilateral relations and enhance the role of parliamentary diplomacy in developing these relations, in a way that serves the goals and objectives aspired by the leaderships of the two friendly countries.
