Committees and their Responsibilities

The Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee is competent to consider the following:

  • Draft laws submitted by the Council of Ministers, and proposed laws submitted by members, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
  • Justice and human rights affairs.
  • Requests to Constitutional amendments.
  • Immunity of members, and the removal of membership.
  • Reports of administrative and financial oversight bodies and the protection of public funds.
  • What the Speaker refers to the Committee for study and opinion.
  • Any other competencies stipulated in the Council’s internal regulations, or decided by the Council or the Bureau, in relation to its specializations.

  • What the Speaker refers to the Committee for study and opinion.
  • Any other competencies stipulated in the Council’s internal regulations, or decided by the Council or the Bureau, in relation to its specializations.

  • The draft budget of the Council and its final account.
  • Draft laws submitted by the Council of Ministers, and proposed laws submitted by members, related to financial, economic, commercial and industrial affairs.
  • What the Speaker refers to the Committee for study and opinion.
  • Any other competencies stipulated in the Council’s internal regulations, or decided by the Council or the Bureau, in relation to its specializations.
