03 June 2018

The Advisory Council welcomed the decision issued by the European Parliament last Thursday, which confirmed the human rights violations caused by the unjust siege imposed by the Saudi authorities and other siege countries on the State of Qatar, and the impact of the sanctions imposed by Saudi Arabia and other countries against the State of Qatar in the field of human rights at the local and regional levels.

In a statement on Sunday, the Advisory Council praised the decision of the European Parliament which coincided with the first anniversary of the imposition of the unjust siege on the State of Qatar, and considered it a new support against what the siege causes of a flagrant violation of international law and human rights and all laws, religions, customs and good relations between countries, which are principles and values that Qatar has been committed to and keen on.

The Advisory Council considered the decision of the European Union a victory for the right and justice and an important step that must be followed by further steps to lift the siege on the State of Qatar and stop the illegal and immoral procedures and practices of the siege countries against the State of Qatar and its people and the residents on its land.
