The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Shura Council strongly condemns the criminal, treacherous, and cowardly attack launched by the Israeli occupation state last night on the State of Qatar. The attack targeted residential compounds housing members of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” in Doha, constituting a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and security, and posing a serious threat to the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Council extends its condolences to the government and people of Qatar for the martyrdom of a member of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), because of this heinous Israeli aggression. It prays for mercy upon him and the other accompanying members of the Hamas delegation, who were martyred with him, asking Allah to grant their families patience and solace, and speedy recovery to all those injured.

The Shura Council affirms that this terrorist attack represents a flagrant and ongoing breach of all international laws and norms. It calls on the international community, the UN Security Council, the United Nations, human rights and humanitarian organizations, and parliaments around the world to assume their moral responsibilities, hold the occupation state accountable for this sinful aggression and its disregard for innocent lives, and to stop its grave violations that undermine regional and global peace and stability.

The Shura Council stresses that the failure to hold the occupation state accountable for its repeated crimes—foremost among them the genocide it has been waging against Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories for nearly two years—has emboldened it to expand its attacks and commit further atrocities in the region. It expresses outrage at the threat issued by the Speaker of the Knesset following the cowardly attack on Qatar, describing it as a message to the entire Middle East. The Shura Council calls on the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the regional parliamentary organizations to suspend the Knesset’s membership.

The Shura Council commends Qatar’s steadfast and principled support for the Palestinian cause and its rejection of all attempts to undermine it—whether through displacement projects, settlement expansion, or imposed solutions that diminish the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. It also praises Qatar’s constructive and positive role in efforts to halt the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
