Shura Council Participates in Marrakesh Economic Parliamentary Forum

The Shura Council participated in the work of the fourth session of the Marrakesh Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Regions, which was held in Marrakesh in the Kingdom of Morocco, with the participation of parliamentarians, officials and experts from various countries and regional and international organizations.

The Shura Council was represented at the forum by HE Member of the Shura Council and Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie and HE Member of the Shura Council Hamad bin Abdullah Al Mulla.

The forum witnessed discussions on a number of economic and developmental issues of common interest, including global challenges to economic integration and free trade, stimulating investment in artificial intelligence, enhancing employment opportunities, and addressing the effects of climate change on food security, in addition to a number of topics related to development, investment and economic cooperation.

In a speech during the forum, HE Al Subaie stressed that the State of Qatar has been keen to adopt sound financial and economic policies based on transparency, governance and diversification of income sources, which has enabled it to maintain the strength of its economy and its ability to face global changes and challenges.

His Excellency emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint action to address the growing economic and security challenges facing the world. He also discussed several issues related to energy security, food security, the knowledge economy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, stressing the importance of developing legislative frameworks and policies that support sustainable development and enhance the capacity to confront global economic challenges.
