Academic Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Qatar University.

Parliamentary Career

  Member of the Shura Council, First Legislative Term (2021–2025).
  Reappointed as a Member of the Shura Council in the Second Legislative Term pursuant to Amiri Decision No. (42) of 2025, issued on 9 October 2025.
  Has served on several Council committees.
  Chaired the Committee on Education, Culture, Youth, Sports and Media during the Fourth Ordinary Session of the First Legislative Term, and currently serves as Chairman of the same Committee in the current legislative session.
  Also serves as a Member of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee.

Professional Experience

  Mr. Al-Obaidan served as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then worked at the Office of the Personal Secretary to His Highness the Amir, and later became Director of the Office of the Chief of the Amiri Diwan.
He has been appointed to numerous local committees, including:
  Member of the Qatar National Museum Content Committee.
  Member of the Advisory Committee for the Translation and Interpreting Institute at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
  Chairman of several cultural committees, including the Cultural Committee of Al Jasra Cultural and Social Club, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
  He has participated in various cultural and literary events locally and internationally, and has published a poetry collection titled “A Winter Summer Cloud”.
