The Shura Council State of Qatar

H. E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, the Speaker of the Shura Council held today a meeting with H. E. Mr. Niels Schmidt, a member of the German Parliament and the spokesman of the Social Democratic Party bloc for Foreign Affairs in the Federal Parliament and his entourage.

The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Federal Republic of Germany and explored the ways to support and develop them in various fields, especially in the parliamentary area.
 
H. E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud expressed his deep satisfaction with the great development the Qatari- German relations is witnessing, especially after the successful visit of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir (may Allah protect him) to the Federal Republic of Germany, during the month of September of last year, which brought about a qualitative shift in the distinctive march of partnership between the two countries.
 
On his part H. E. Mr. Niels Schmidt praised the significant progress the State of Qatar is witnessing in various fields. He also praised the role of the State of Qatar on regional and international arenas and the estimated efforts Qatar exerts for peace and stability in the region and the world.
 
H. E. the member of the German Parliament expressed his pleasure to Speaker of the Shura Council for choosing the State of Qatar for hosting the next session of the General Assembly of the IPU to be held in Doha in the coming month of April, and expressed his optimism in its success.
 
The meeting was attended by a number of officials in the Council and by H.E. Mr. Hans-Udo Muzel, the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Qatar.
