The Shura Council holds its regular weekly meeting

The Shura Council continued its discussions whereat the Council discussed the report of its Internal and External Affairs Committee report on a draft law to amend the provisions of Law No (7) of 2007 on Settlement of Administrative Disputes. After discussions, the Council approved the draft law and decided to submit its recommendations thereon to the esteemed Government.

The Council also considered the report of the delegation of the Shura Council which participated in the Sixth International Humanitarian Forum held in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
 
At the close of the meeting the Speaker of the Shura Council briefed the members of the Council on his yesterday’s meeting with H. E. Mr. Wesley Simina, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Group in the IPU and the President of the Federated States of Micronesia and the accompanying delegation. The meeting comes as part of the series of the Speaker’s meetings with the heads of geopolitical groups in the IPU.

His Excellency said that during the meeting they discussed cooperation between the Council and the Asia- Pacific Group and ways to bolster and develop them in various fields of parliamentary work, as well as the relations with the Parliament of the Federated States of Micronesia. They also reviewed the arrangements for the convening of the 140 General Assembly of the IPU and the Related Meetings. H. E. Wesley Simina expressed his pleasure with convening of this General Assembly in Doha and with distinctive arrangements to provide all the requirements for its success.
