The Shura Council holds its weekly Meeting

Shura Council held its regular weekly meeting today under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council considered the note by the General Secretariat of the Cabinet on the recommendation of the Shura Council on granting the capacity of judicial commissioning.

The note of the Secretariat of the Cabinet included the approval of the recommendation of the Shura Council on the need to rehabilitate and train candidates for granting the capacity of judicial commissioners. 

The note also included authorizing the Department of Legislation at the Secretariat of the Cabinet to take the necessary actions to prepare a study on the recommendations of the Shura Council on the need to include the penalty imposed on offenders in the light of the visions of the Public Prosecution.

The Shura Council expressed its thanks and appreciation to the esteemed government for its kind consideration, its response to the recommendations and for the actions taken thereon.

The Council discussed during the meeting a draft law on Repealing the Law No (6) of 2016 on combating smuggling of petroleum products and illegal dealings.

After the due discussions, the Council approved the draft law and decided to transmit the recommendations to the esteemed Government.
 
During the meeting, the Council reviewed a report submitted by a Shura delegation which participated in the work of the First Session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in its Third Session of the Second Legislative Term, which was recently held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The Council also considered the report of its delegation which participated in the Mediterranean Dialogues Conference held recently in Rome.
