Shura Council Speaker Meets Heads of Parliaments Participating in IPU Meetings

HE Speaker of the Shura Council and President of the 140th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud met separately on Tuesday with HE Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zuhurov, HE Speaker of the National Assembly of the Gambia Mariam Jack-Denton, HE Chairperson of the National Council of Namibia Margaret Mensah-Williams, HE Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 140th General assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) currently in session in Doha.

The meetings discussed the parliamentary relations between the State of Qatar and each of these countries and ways of enhancing them, in addition to the topics on the agenda of the General Assembly.

HE the Speaker of the Shura Council and President of the 140th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) also met Tuesday with HE President of the House of Councillors in the Kingdom of Morocco Hakim Benchamach, on the sidelines of the IPU General Assembly meetings in Doha.

During the meeting, they discussed the parliamentary relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco and means of developing them, as well as the topics on agenda of the General Assembly.

The meeting was attended by HE Saqr bin Fahd Al Meraikhi, member of the Shura Council and Chairman of the Qatari-Moroccan Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
