The Shura Council holds its sixth regular weekly meeting

The Shura Council held its regular weekly meeting today under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al-Sulaiti, the Deputy Speaker of the Council.

The Council began its discussion on the report of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee on Decree by Law No (19) of the year 2018, on amending some provisions of Advocacy Law issued by Law No. (23) of the year 2006. 

 The Council also discussed the Decree by Law No (22) for the year 2018, on amending some provisions of Law No (8) of the year 2012, on the Qatar Financial Markets Authority.

The Council approved the two decrees and decided to submit its recommendations thereon to the esteemed Government. 

At the end of the meeting the members of the Council were briefed about the reports of a number of delegations of the Council, which recently participated in regional and international parliamentary meetings and forums.  

The reports confirmed the active participation of the delegations of the Council in these meetings and forums, during which the Council’s delegates presented the views of the Council, on the topics discussed therein. In addition, the delegates held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of these meetings and forums with other participating delegates, in order to strengthen closer parliamentary relations between the Council and the parliaments of the sisterly and friendly countries.
